At Le Baudelaire Paris Restaurant, prepare to indulge in a memorable dining experience surrounded by stunning greenery.

A girl dining at Le Baudelaire in Paris

Embarking on a dining experience at a place like Restaurant Le Baudelaire in Paris with a child may initially raise concerns. What if your little one doesn't eat everything on their plate? The simple solution to this first-world problem is to graciously finish what they leave behind.

When I visited Restaurant Le Baudelaire Paris with my daughter, I felt fortunate that my husband had already introduced her to the world of fine dining. While it was my first time experiencing the Michelin-starred restaurant, it was her second visit...

Amusingly, she chuckled when I mistook the stool next to my chair for holding my wine glass.

What is Restaurant Le Baudelaire Paris known for?

Le Baudelaire is renowned for its innovative approach to vegetables, offering a farm-to-table experience that is distinctly unique, without any California vibes.

Under the skillful guidance of Executive Chef Anthony Denon, vegetables at Le Baudelaire are elevated to the status of a "Farm to Table" fashion show.

The restaurant proudly holds a Michelin Star, bestowed upon it by the prestigious Michelin Guide in 2011. You can find this culinary gem nestled at 6-8 Rue Duphot, situated on the first level of Le Burgundy Hotel.

Le Baudelaire review from 5 course tasting menu

01 | THE BREAD

Two baskets of bread on a table at Restaurant Le Baudelaire Paris
  • Bread in France is unlike anything you've ever tasted and you can experience it at Le Baudelaire.

  • It arrives in a delightful sack or a charming basket, radiating a golden hue and maintaining its warmth as if by magic.

  • In France, bread is meant to be savored without reservation. There's no holding back for subsequent courses or dietary restrictions like gluten intolerance.

  • Children are particularly fond of this starchy delight, and it's no wonder why. The bread in France is unparalleled, with some even featuring delectable cheese nestled at their very core. I like to call it "the epitome of excellent bread."

02 | GLIMMERING VEGETABLES

Puff pastry with leafy vegetables at Restaurant Le Baudelaire Paris
  • Never did I imagine waking up with the intention of indulging in delightful leaves. However, my perception of vegetables took a remarkable turn when I experienced the puff pastry adorned with a luscious sauce and delicate veggie leaves.

  • In this unique culinary creation, vegetables transformed into something extraordinary, deepening my appreciation for their flavors and textures.

  • It's not often that children are treated to visually stunning vegetable presentations. When greens are elevated to the status of artwork, every bite becomes a moment to cherish, prompting a complete reevaluation of our preconceived notions about leafy greens.

Since that memorable dining experience, my relationship with vegetables has undergone a transformation. I've become more adventurous and inventive with incorporating them into my meals, thanks to the culinary inspiration provided by Le Baudelaire.

03 | IMPRESSIVE PLATING

  • One of the many joys of fine dining is the captivating array of artistic plating that accompanies each course. Among the stunning presentations, we experienced at Le Baudelaire, my absolute favorite was the imaginative depiction of a bird's nest enclosed within a glass vessel.

  • This masterful creation transformed the act of eating into a multisensory experience, engaging not only the taste buds but also sight and touch.

  • As my daughter and I indulged in this unique culinary creation, we couldn't help but giggle with delight. It felt like we were enjoying a meal straight from a bird's nest, evoking a sense of earthly connection and leaving an indelible impression on our palates.

  • The exceptional combination of artistry and flavors in this dish made it a truly memorable and unforgettable highlight of our dining experience.

04 | DECONSTRUCTED BEETS

The theme of our 5-course meal was beets.

We saw beets done in various ways. It started with a shot of beet juice and ended with beet-like truffles served on knives.

We loved how enticing such a rooty vegetable could look.

The little rice cracker with diced beets was like eating a snack at the movies.

I started to eat the pumpkin seeds but was informed they were part of the decor.

05 | MOUTHWATERING DESSERT

French do dessert better than any place.

We loved the strawberry foam on top of the chocolate. My daughter finished this course in record time.

The wait staff was happy.
